Yes, Zander, it is. Now push off and let a chap type.

I'm posting this from the neighbourhood of a certain dormant volcanic caldera in New Mexico (with the usual precautions to ensure my location can't be tracked). I've been here before. I probably know more about why I'm here than most of the people who show up, looking a little bewildered, to seek advice from the fellow with the caravan. After everything blew up here last time, I took off and spent some time minding security at a small hotel owned by some friends of a friend. Now that that situation has quietened down a bit, I thought I might venture out here again and have another go at seeing what's actually what down below. I can't put my finger on it, but I've a feeling in my water that some sort of a breakthrough might not be far off.

So, to recap: Hugh Sacristan, British, mid-thirties, married to the lovely Jolinda who has given me two beautiful children, currently on indefinite sabbatical from work connected with the British Government. Interests at various times in my life, vintage cars, Chinese sculpture and subterranean Mesoamerican culture. Fictional character at the moment, but I'm working on that. This blog is in the nature of an experiment. I intend to post as and when I can and want to, documenting my explorations and airing my views on whatever takes my fancy.

We'll see who reads the result.

Is this thing on?

Testing, testing.
